Losing ₹15 Lakhs: A Hard Fall
Four months of hard work. ₹15 lakh earned and gone in a moment. It wasn’t just money—it was everything I was working toward including my surgery money.
I made a 3x leveraged short on Bitcoin, thinking it wouldn’t cross $70k. I was confident, maybe too confident. I thought this would be the move to finally give me a win, help me buy a car and make everyone happy. But the market doesn’t care about what you want. Bitcoin hit $99k for the first time in history, and I lost $20k in a matter of 5 days. Months of effort vanished just like that.
It’s not just the money that hurts— it’s the regret. The feeling that I wasted time I’ll never get back.
Janhavi - My Strength
Through all of this, Janhavi has been my strength. On November 11, I left her house after a fight and left from Pune to Noida. Even when I was with her, I was glued to my phone, refreshing Bitcoin prices like it would somehow fix everything.
When I finally told her about the loss, she didn’t believe me. “Ur joking to see my reaction,” she said. But when it sank in, she acted immediately. She messaged my parents, making sure they knew what was going on. She blocked them later to avoid their questions, but she made sure I wasn’t alone in this.
Janhavi is the kind of person who feels your pain as if it’s her own. When I’m awake at night, restless, she’s awake too, worrying about me. When I can’t find peace, neither can she. She’s taken on my burdens without hesitation, even though she shouldn’t have to.
She hides her anger behind humor. Tonight, she joked about roasting me on a tava. When I asked if it’d be high flame or low, she smirked and said it would be low. I told her I'd bounce on it. We laughed.
She told me she misses my hand and how fast it makes her sleep. I miss those moments - just sleeping beside her, patting her head to make her fall asleep, even though it makes my hand tired. Those moments meant everything to me. I want them back. Just to be there with her again, watching her drift off to sleep without any worries. Nothing makes me happier than knowing she's comfortable and safe next to me.
Hard Lessons from Trading
Trading feels like a gamble disguised as a strategy. And this time, I lost.
-
Most People Lose
No matter how smart you think you are, the market will humble you. -
Leverage is Dangerous
It only takes one small move against you to wipe out everything. -
Exchanges Always Win
They profit from your losses. You’re just another statistic to them. -
Quick Money is a Lie
The idea of getting rich overnight is nothing but a fantasy.
This ₹15 lakh loss taught me that shortcuts never work. If I want something real, I’ll have to earn it the hard way.
Moving Forward
Losing the money is tough, but what's even harder is seeing my parents' disappointment. My dad is angry, and my mom is frustrated. They always wanted me to succeed, and I feel like I've let them down.
During this tough time, Rita Aunty, who is like a second mother to me, called. She advised me that quick money isn't the solution and that I should focus on building something real and meaningful. She suggested buying properties, renting them out, and using that money to buy more. It's a good plan, but I need to earn enough to buy the first property.
Janhavi is working hard on her own dreams. She's learning web3 development and building her future step by step. She's been supporting me while also focusing on her own goals.
We plan to move to Dubai, where she can achieve her goals, and I can lead a better life.
The Turning Point
This isn’t the end of my story. The ₹15 lakh I lost isn’t just a financial setback — it’s a lesson. A reminder that nothing worth having comes easy.
- Success takes time.
- Quick wins don’t last.
- Real value is built through patience and persistence.
One day, I’ll show my parents that I’ve learned from this and rebuilt. Janhavi will see the progress and strength, not the setbacks. This is my goal, and I’m taking it one step at a time.
